About Me
Hi! I'm Rolandson Thomas.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my portfolio!

A little about me:

I'm an optimistic, friendly, and ambitious Games Designer with a background in programming and sales, ideally looking for a Gameplay or Technical Design role in the games industry, and my long term goal is to be a Creative Games Director. After graduating my Games Programming BSc degree at Kingston University with a first class in 2024, I chose to continue my studies and pursue a Masters degree in Games Design which I will complete in 2025.
With my positive mindset, experience developing software for clients and ability to work in teams as well as alone, I take pride in my work and always aim to exceed expectations - with a smile.

My Story
I grew up as the typical 'jack-of-all-trades' archetype, and although I had many hobbies, I wasn't sure which one I wanted to be my vocation. A fan of art, maths, and science, I began by pursuing Architecture, eventually studying it at University of Brighton. Being the Swiss-army-knife type, I was confident that I would be able to do it if I put my mind to it!
I was very wrong.

Like many creative disciplines, architecture is a subject that requires passion in order to succeed, and after years of trying, I learnt that I don't really care all that much about buildings. So I thought long and hard about what I really wanted to do in life - this time guided by my passions... And that led me to games development!

Since then I completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship, did a couple years in sales, and eventually saved up to study BSc Games Programming full-time at Kingston University, of which I graduated with a First Class Honours! Now I am currently studying MA Games Design to help prepare the foundations for my short term goals (Gameplay/Technical Design role), but also my long-term goal of becoming a Games Director.
Honestly, my university experience the second time around was night & day compared to the first one. I now feel how having passion for the projects you work on can make all the difference. Now I can't get enough. It's no longer enough for me to just make games, I want to make great games, and nothing excites me more than learning new skills that I can put into use to bring amazing games to life.
